i had 3 sea horse, 2 grey and one white. The white one died and now one of the others has white blotches on its skin. They are both feeding well. I feed them on baby brine shrimp and breed my own brine shrimp plus other live food. I have had them 2 months and thought i'd got it right. I check my tank regularly for ph/nitrate/nitrite/amonia/salt levels. I have my own RO unit and a thriving reef tank but this has me baffled. Can anyone suggest anything please before I lose them all?

Hi Stephy122
Sorry you have lost one of your seahorses .Could you tell me what type of seahorses you have. Also you need to be feeding them on frozen mysis as there is very little goodness in brine shrimp.

This is the white one, the one that died. I haven't got a photo of the other 2 at the moment but I will take some asap.

I think they are kudo seahorses but i'm not sure.

My husband said that we did feed them on frozen mysis so he will get some more if that's what they prefer. Should I stop the brine shrimp? I usually feed 2 or 3 times a day. Is this ok?

I read that turning the temp down a couple of degrees can help.

They have grown quite a lot since we bought them and still seem happy enough but i'm still concerned about the white patches.

The only other things in the tank are a cleaner shrimp and a scooter blenny

Hope you can help.
