Hi all,
I collected my new tank for my rescued foot long red belly Pacu yesterday - transit van job... It's rather large at 300 gallons! It's a koi vat, really but should look ok with a treated wood surround (epoxy with no fungicide) and an acrylic enclosure. Have a 1000gph pond pump and pond filter to go with it. I might have enough heaters
With a decent enclosure, I can let the fish jump if they wish and going tall to six feet frm the deck will keep the cats off, possibly. The pond would look too flat without an enclosure, I think and I can possibly have a waterfall and plant pockets fixed to the back wall. May knock a hole in the wall and have a ducted fan wet air extract to take care of that problem.
Just have to decorate the main lounge first, then it's going in. One point three tons of beastie tank.
I'd like to do the classic and get a red tail cat but this tank is too small for one of those - i'd need a 30 foot swimming pool. It'd be too small for a black pacu too but maybe ok for a red belly.
Somewhere for my plecs anyway!
I'll have to find a tree that's blown down somewhere for 'bogwood'... Snh, snh.
I'll be in a good mood for MONTHS!

Good thing there's a concrete floor!
